About Rusk County Friends
Our Mission:
Rusk County Friends Helping Friends is a prescription assistance program dedicated to facilitating the availability of prescription medications to residents of Rusk County or those who seek medical assistance from a physician in the county. Our mission is to ensure that everyone in our community has access to the medications they need to maintain their health and well-being. We work tirelessly to bridge the gap between individuals and essential prescription drugs, providing support and guidance every step of the way.
History for Friends
In 2003, the Rusk County Friends Helping Friends program was launched thanks to a grant from Henderson Memorial Hospital Foundation. Its purpose was to provide prescription assistance to residents of Rusk County. Since then, the program has received ongoing financial support from various sources including the United Way of Rusk County, Rusk County Commissioners Court, local businesses, health organizations, and private individuals. The Henderson Memorial Hospital Foundation has also been instrumental in the continued success of Rusk County Friends, providing crucial support that enables us to expand our reach and impact within the community. Additionally, local physicians have supported the program by referring clients and assisting with medication prescriptions, ensuring that those in need receive the necessary medical care and medications.

Rusk County Friends continues to seek additional financial support to expand our services, including assistance for medical transportation and funding for first-time prescriptions. Your contributions can help us achieve these goals and further our mission of providing comprehensive healthcare support to our community.
